7:18 pm - Just a notice...
|
I recently received an email from an individual who will not be named here, who informs me she is going to be selling a couple of my drawings she commissioned from me a while back.
I'm perfectly fine with people reselling my artwork--once you buy it, it's yours, and do what you will with it. But I sold these to her for $50, and she's trying to get $150 for them. People, please don't be taken in by this. I'm not a professional artist, and they're not worth that much.
She also asked me if I would try to sell them on my livejournal, supposedly so they could "find a loving home"--which I'm taking to mean she's cut ties with a lot of people, and now wants to use my journal as a marketplace for my own artwork, which she's trying to sell at a ridiculous markup.
I'm not going to do it, and honestly, I would urge you guys to think strongly about it before you consider buying it. It's not officially a scam, but in my book it's damn near to it.
Just a heads up.

Okay...I'm sorry to have to do this, but I'm seriously getting burnt out here.
I'm gonna be taking a short break from fandom commissions for a while.
Those of you to whom I still owe drawings--worry not, I'll be back. But I'm putting out poor quality work at the moment, and it's because I've done almost nothing else for nearly a year. Ever since the Katrina fund, I've been at least four commissions deep (usually much more)--and that's not counting my portrait business, which is an entirely other matter, yes, but which is another item on my list of "Things I Have To Draw Before I Can Draw for Fun Again."
I started into this because I love to draw, and I hate that I'm losing that. I know that's a risk I take when I make a hobby a means of making money, but I never expected it to happen with fandom. I don't want to get burnt out on everything fandom-related just because I'm trying to do too many at once.
This is mostly a cross-post, though I've chopped this version of it to make it a little more succinct. (Yeah--THIS is the short version.)
Thanks for your patience! I'll be back soon, I hope. :)

*Incidentally, for those wondering about the title, this is heavily inspired by Glory Underhill's fic "Elf Kiss Puree," most specifically this passage:
( Cut for NC-17 ness )
Her fic can be found here.

5:46 pm - Let's try this again...
|
A few of you might have caught this when I posted it last week. I took it down immediately deciding it needed more work. Here it is again:
Hotel Funds Commission for ladydarkrose, who wanted: "Frodo, reclining on a chaise (of the elegant variety, natch, not the sort you'd find in the back yard ;) ), receiving oral from Sam, who's kneeling on the floor. Frodo has his fingers woven into Sam's hair, and maybe (hopefully) Sam's so aroused that he's taken himself in hand as he pleasures his master."
I tried to get most of that in there, though I'm bad at furniture, so I'm not sure how elegant the chaise turned out, despite my best efforts. Here it be, anyway...
Title: Chaise Rating: NC-17!!!!!!! Characters: Frodo/Sam (why do I even bother specifying that anymore?) Warnings: Visible Male Bits.
( Chaise )
Notes: This was drawn on 11x14 paper and scanned on an 8x11 scanner, so some of it was lost.

10:26 pm - Desperate Trilliah = Open Commissions
|
As some of you might have gleaned, I, by hook or by crook, have managed to secure myself a spot at the upcoming ELF convention.
Ticket's arranged, airfare's arranged--the problem is the hotel. Thing is, Trilliah's broke. And the hotel is--shall we say--pricey. I've officially closed commissions, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Here's what I'm offering:
I will do Frodo/Sam, any rating (though explicit ratings are preferred...). I'd like to start them at $50, but if you're just aching to donate more, I might find it in me to accept. ;) These will be more detailed than the Katrina commissions, on bigger paper--and will therefore take more time, too, so the longer you're willing to wait the better for me.
Is anyone interested? Even a little?
Let me know!

Well, folks, this is it. Trilliah's first official NC-17 drawing!
Title: Amour Rating: NC-17 Characters: Frodo/Sam WARNINGS!!!: Frodo on top!! And graphic sex. Oh my GOD NOT WORK SAFE PEOPLE. HEAR ME!
( Amour )
( Amour, sketchy version )
I posted the sketchy version because I find myself in a quandary. Consistently I find I like a drawing more before I clean it up. THat was part of the reason for that poll post the other day. As I put it to melanieathene--when I clean up and shade, my drawing goes from organic to aesthetic. I'm trying to figure out how to merge the two.
And for the first time in a very long time, this isn't FOR anyone--so it'll be up on Ebay soon, if anyone's interested. :)

*throws confettii* For blackbird_song, who was kind enough to accept another Frodo/Sam. :)
I still owe a lot of people mailings--and I will get to that, I swear it. Someday.
No, seriously. Soon.
Title: The Best Medicine Rating: R Characters: Frodo/Sam Summary: Sam was feeling a bit under the weather. Frodo decides to enact his own cure. I don't think Sam protests.

6:31 pm - Art poll
|
I'm conducting a public art poll at my other journal, trilliah, available here:
Drawing Poll
(Doing it there because it's a paid account and this one isn't).
I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys could give me--this might determine how much or how little art is posted here in the near future, as I'm not sure what sorts of things people want to see. :)
Thanks!

9:56 pm - Another Centaur/Hind sketch
|
For frodobaggins252
Title: At Last Rating: PG-13 to be safe Characters: Centaur Sam and Hind Frodo
( At Last )
A quick note to those of you going "Seriously, wtf?" on all these centaur/hind drawings: It's a very long story, but there IS a story--an off-handed suggestion by none other than frodobaggins252 in an AIM conversation about a year ago gave me a really random idea, which blossomed into an entire fantasy epic. None of it's yet to see paper, apart from these drawings, but rest assured these characters have a tale. I just haven't told it. :)

12:00 am - No art just yet...
|
...but a recent query from ink_gypsy made me realize I'd never really spelled out my art-use policies. So here they are, in terms of the most frequently asked questions.
1) You can use any drawing of mine as an icon. You don't have to ask. I would appreciate credit. 2) You can use any drawing of mine on a website. You don't have to ask. I would appreciate a link and credit. 3) You can use any drawing of mine as wallpaper or an avatar. You don't have to ask. I'd appreciate credit.
EXCEPTIONS: If the drawing is a commission (which it will say in the text of the post) and you want to use it in a public venue, please contact the commissioner as well; I do not "sell" total rights to the drawings (I reserve the right to post to my journal and my site) that are commissioned by me, but the public se of the drawing I leave to the discretion of my commissioner.
If you're wanting to use a drawing of mine of a specific character--say, Sam--as a character OTHER than Sam in an RPS game or story, please contact me first; I may or may not agree, depending on the nature of the game/story/etc.
That's all I can think of at the moment. If I come up with anything new, I'll add to this (I'm gonna put it in my Info); if you have questions I haven't addressed, let me know.
